Officials

If it’s for one of our home events, or competitions elsewhere our team of officials are crucial to the competitive needs of our club. Officials are Referee’s, Starter’s, Stroke & Turn Judges, timekeepers and recorders. You will find officials at every level of competition from grassroots to the Olympic’s

Many people start off as timekeepers and are guided through the learning process within our club, by the very experienced Richard Bray and Jason Grech.

Is this something that you could get involved in ? Why not give it a try during one of our sprint nights where you can have a go alongside an experienced timekeeper.

This course is for club members and volunteers who want to help their club deliver events, by becoming a timekeeper.

By becoming a timekeeper, you will get a glimpse into the vital world of officiating. The course covers what being a timekeeper is all about through an interactive e-learning which will take you between 60 and 90 minutes to complete, followed by a practical timekeeping session. This can be completed at an event.

To become a timekeeper you need to be at least 14 years of age and a registered member of a Swim England, Swim Wales or Scottish Swimming affiliated club or member of the Institute of Swimming.
